DENTAL BRACES

Dental braces are a type of orthodontic appliance used to align and straighten teeth. They are typically made of metal or ceramic brackets that are bonded to the teeth with a special adhesive. Archwires are then threaded through the brackets and used to apply gentle pressure to the teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position. In some cases, braces may also be used to correct jaw alignment or address other dental issues.

There are several different types of dental braces. The type of brace that a person needs depends on their dental issue. Only a dentist can determine the type of treatment needed and decide which type of brace is best for the patient.

If you have ever wanted your smile to be straighter and more attractive, braces may be right for your smile. With braces, we are able to correct orthodontic issues such as:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Gapped teeth
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Problems with the bite, including crossbite, open bite, underbite, and overbite

While they can make your teeth straight, there is a lot of work that goes into getting them. They are mostly metal, but other materials are used as well. They are very useful in helping problematic teeth. They are sometimes uncomfortable, but not usually painful. They should be cleaned regularly to avoid bad breath and tooth decay. An orthodontist should be consulted before getting braces, as they are expensive and time consuming.

Ceramic braces are similar to metal braces but differ in that they’re clear instead of metal. Ceramic braces come in a variety of colors and styles; you can choose one that matches your personality or style.

How to Take Care of Dental Braces

Dentists recommend wearing dental braces for several reasons, including the fact that they help you maintain your bite and avoid serious problems like tooth loss. If you take good care of your braces, they’ll last a long time and make it easier to eat normally. Here are some tips for keeping your braces clean and in good shape:

  1. Don’t forget your teeth! Brush your teeth with a soft brush and floss to remove plaque and germs from between your teeth.
  2. Don’t eat hard foods like nuts or acidic foods like citrus fruit. These can cause irritation and damage your braces.
  3. Visit your dentist regularly for checkups and cleanings—it’s important that you make an appointment every 6 months!
  4. Keep it well-moisturized by rinsing with warm water after each meal or snack, and make sure to use mouthwash if you have bad breath.
  5. Use fluoride toothpaste at least once per day, especially if you have sensitive gums or receding gums (the space between your teeth).
