DENTURES

Do you want to replace missing teeth but would prefer to avoid costly, invasive procedures? Then our gentle dentists, Dr. Bansal, Dr. Chawla, and Dr. Jun, may recommend that you consider dentures. Dentures are removable, prosthetic dental devices used to restore your smile and boost your self-confidence and health. We offer many different types of dentures in Salem, Massachusetts, based on your individual needs and which teeth are missing.

There are three main types of dentures available: full dentures, partial dentures, and immediate dentures. Full dentures are shaped like horseshoes and are used to replace all of the teeth in your upper or lower dental arch or both. Partial dentures work in a similar fashion, but there must be some natural teeth remaining in your smile in order for partial dentures to be used. Immediate dentures are prepared and ready to go the minute your teeth are removed, so you never have to go a moment without a full, beautiful smile.

There are many advantages to using dentures. Dentures are easy to make and do not require drilling, surgeries, or shots. Dentures are affordable when compared to other tooth replacement options and can also be adjusted as your smile changes. If you are considering dentures to restore your smile, please contact Dr. Bansal and Dr. Jun, our dentists at Salem Family Dental Care. We would be happy to schedule a consultation and start you on the road to a more complete, healthier smile.

When multiple teeth are missing, one restoration option is a Removable Partial Denture, or RPD. There are various types of partial dentures. To create this restoration, first some of your teeth are prepared to support the RPD. Impression are then taken to ensure that the RPD fits in your mouth perfectly. A framework for your RPD is custom made at the dental lab. A trial fitting is done to ensure that the framework fits comfortably in your mouth. The framework is then sent back to the dental lab to have wax added. This is fitted in your mouth to establish the relationship between the upper jaw and the lower jaw. Teeth are then added to the framework at the dental lab. Your framework with teeth is then fitted and adjusted to fit your mouth perfectly. At this time, the wax is replaced by a pink acrylic base at the dental lab. Once this process is complete, your partial denture is then inserted in your mouth providing a fair solution for missing teeth.
